The Employee Benefits Advocate (EBA) augments HR departments by outsourcing
day-to-day employee benefit support responsibilities.
The EBA’s role on the M&A Health & Welfare
management team is to provide our client’s employees and dependents with
one toll-free number to call with any benefits-related question. Our dedicated
professionals take that individual’s question or issue and address it
from research through resolution.
Getting involved with employee healthcare issues is not a good idea for
employers – the liability is substantial. EBAs insulate our client’s HR
staff from HIPAA Privacy issues relative to healthcare plans, provide a
liaison between employees and management for benefit purposes and ensure
employees are receiving consistent, accurate and up-to-date information
relative to their programs. The EBA provides clients with monthly reporting
that can present trends and other opportunities for improved communications
to be identified quickly.
From the employee’s vantage point, the EBA can assist with claims or
network questions, provide assistance with utilization review procedures
and help a new or terminating employee understand their options.
For the Health & Welfare management team, the
EBA provides access to critical information: employee perception.
